Frequently asked questions

Sightable is for people who want to understand their financial life – not just delegate it.

If you want clarity about how your retirement works, where risk truly sits, and how decisions interact over decades, it is designed for exactly that.

If full delegation feels more comfortable, traditional advice may suit you better. Sightable supports those who want understanding first – whether or not they later choose advice.

No.

Sightable is not about jargon, formulas, or market theory. It’s about orientation – seeing the whole picture clearly enough to make good decisions.

Most users describe it as learning fewer ideas, but understanding them more deeply.

Not at all.

You don’t need prior knowledge – just a willingness to engage thoughtfully.

Sightable is for people who value clarity over complexity. If you want to see how everything connects, you’re the right fit.

Approaching retirement is exactly when understanding matters most.

When income becomes dependent on your assets, small misunderstandings can have outsized consequences. Sightable helps you see:

• Where risk really sits
• How withdrawals interact with markets and tax
• What flexibility you actually have

This isn’t about learning more. It’s about removing uncertainty.

Many platforms are designed for delegation – they simplify by making decisions for you.

Sightable simplifies differently. It gives you clarity first, so you understand what’s being done and why.

For some people, full delegation feels easier in the short term. But when markets move, tax rules change, or retirement approaches, understanding becomes the real source of confidence.

Sightable doesn’t ask you to carry everything alone. It gives you structured understanding – with support available when needed – so decisions feel deliberate, not automatic.

No.

Sightable uses professional-grade cashflow modelling software called Voyant, which is widely used by financial advisers to model retirement plans and explore future financial scenarios.

The educational content is designed to help you understand both the purpose of financial modelling and how to use Voyant effectively within the Sightable framework.

Most members start with little or no experience of cashflow modelling software.

The aim isn’t to become a software expert. It’s to use the model as a tool to better understand your financial future, explore different possibilities, and make more informed decisions.

Because creating robust financial planning software is an enormous undertaking – and excellent solutions already exist.

Sightable uses Voyant, one of the most widely used cashflow modelling tools within the financial planning profession. It has been developed through many years of real-world use, testing, feedback, and iteration, making it both highly capable and extremely robust.

Rather than attempting to recreate software that already performs this role exceptionally well, Sightable focuses on helping users understand and interpret the information that the software produces.

This approach provides several benefits:

• Access to professional-grade modelling software used by financial advisers
• A platform that has been extensively tested and refined over many years
• Greater confidence in the reliability and robustness of the underlying calculations
• Continuous development and improvement from a specialist software provider
• More focus on education, understanding, and decision-making rather than software development

In short, Sightable’s value is not simply in producing financial projections. It is in helping people understand what those projections mean, explore different possibilities, and make more informed decisions about their future.

You don’t need to complete everything immediately.

Most users gain significant clarity from the early stages alone. The framework is modular – each step adds value independently.

Progress matters more than completion.

There is no fixed pace.

Some members work through large parts of the framework over a few weeks, while others prefer a more gradual approach.

The framework is designed to support ongoing decision-making rather than rapid completion.

Sightable is education-led, not product-led, and does not provide regulated financial advice.

Regulated financial advice involves personalised recommendations about financial products and actions. Sightable focuses first on helping you understand your financial life – how the pieces fit together, what matters most, and where risks truly lie.

For those who want it, professional financial advice can be sought as an optional next step, once you already understand the landscape. This ensures advice is used strategically, not blindly.

Sightable isn’t designed to replace financial advice – it’s designed to improve your understanding of when and why you may need it.

For some people, Sightable provides enough clarity to engage more confidently with their finances independently.

For others – particularly those with complex estates or intricate tax planning – regulated advice may remain valuable.

Sightable ensures that if and when you use advice, you do so from a position of clarity rather than dependence.

That’s entirely your choice.

Some members use Sightable to build enough understanding and confidence to implement their own plans.

Others use it as preparation before seeking professional advice.

In many cases, Sightable helps people approach advice from a position of greater understanding, with clearer objectives, better questions, and a stronger grasp of the trade-offs involved.

Whether you choose to remain self-directed or seek advice later, the understanding you build remains valuable.

For many people, yes – and that can work well in certain situations.

Sightable is for people who want to understand why decisions are being made, not just follow them. When markets change, tax rules shift, or retirement approaches, that understanding becomes the difference between confidence and anxiety.

Delegation can still be part of your strategy. Sightable simply ensures it’s informed delegation.

Sightable combines structured education, professional planning tools, Intelligent Modelling Support AI, a dedicated member support group and optional one-to-one guidance.

You are not simply left with videos and software to work everything out yourself. Support is built around the framework to help you understand what you’re doing and apply it to your own retirement planning.

Access continues for as long as your membership remains active. Membership options and renewal terms are clearly outlined at enrolment.

The framework is designed to evolve as your financial life evolves. You can return to it at key decision points – retirement, market volatility, tax changes, or major life transitions.

Clarity is not a one-off event.

Retirement planning is not a one-off exercise.

Your circumstances, goals, spending needs, tax rules, investment markets, and wider economic conditions can all change over time. Decisions that felt appropriate a year ago may need revisiting as life evolves.

Annual membership renewal provides continued access to the tools, education, and support that help keep your plan aligned with reality, including:

• Voyant financial planning software
• Intelligent Modelling Support
• Educational content and learning pathways
• Ongoing improvements to the Retirement Intelligence framework
• Optional one-to-one guidance sessions

Many members find the greatest value comes not from creating their plan once, but from revisiting and refining it as circumstances change.
Retirement planning is a journey, not a single event.
