Why does Sightable exist?
Financial planning has traditionally been delivered through two routes: self-direction or professional advice. Both remain valuable. Yet many people are looking for something in between. A way to build understanding, explore possibilities, and gain confidence before making important financial decisions.
Sightable was created to provide that middle ground. Not as a replacement for advice, but as a Retirement Intelligence framework that helps people make more informed decisions about their future.

Your Sightable Host – Chris Bourne
Through more than two decades advising clients, and thousands of conversations through his YouTube channel, Chris noticed that a common theme continually emerged:
Many people wanted support when they needed it, but without an ongoing commitment, or a requirement to hand over the management of their assets.
Others felt advice may be beneficial, but weren’t completely sure, and felt there was no practical way to explore this without entering into an advice relationship first.
Sightable was created to support the many thousands of people who fit either of these descriptions, along with those who simply want to understand their finances more clearly before making important decisions.
Chris has been a financial adviser for over 20 years, and in that time has helped hundreds of clients achieve their retirement lifestyle goals.
Through his YouTube channel, he has been able to help a much wider audience in the UK and beyond better understand retirement planning and financial decision-making, and for the first time, his wide knowledge and experience has been distilled into a single structured Retirement Intelligence framework within Sightable.
Sightable Guides
Part of Sightable’s ‘Assisted Self-Management’ approach is to provide access to high quality one-on-one guidance.
Sightable Guides are experienced financial professionals who understand the retirement planning process deeply and are available to help users build understanding, explore trade-offs, and sense-check important decisions.
They do not provide personalised financial advice or recommendations.
Instead, they help users:
- Understand modelling outputs more clearly
- Explore different possibilities and scenarios
- Challenge assumptions and blind spots
- Build confidence in their thinking
- Gain clarity before deciding what action to take
Many have spent years helping individuals and families navigate complex financial decisions and understand the practical realities of retirement planning.
Their role is not to tell you what to do. It is to help you better understand your options before deciding what to do next.

Independent by Design
Sightable is not a product provider.
It doesn’t receive fees for recommending financial products, promote particular investments, or rely on product sales to generate revenue.
Its purpose is simple: To help people understand their options more clearly before deciding what action to take. Some people will use Sightable to build enough confidence to implement their own plans. Others may choose to seek professional financial advice. Both outcomes are valid.
That independence allows the focus to remain exactly where it belongs: On understanding.
